  • Concrete and cracks repair

Concrete consists primarily of cement, sand, gravel and water. As the water in the slurry evaporates, the remaining ingredients cure into a hard, monolithic slab. Unfortunately, the curing process causes the concrete to shrink slightly, often resulting in hairline cracks. Larger stress cracks occur when a house settles or the ground beneath it shifts. These types of cracks typically don’t threaten the structural integrity of the house, but they do create an entry point for groundwater, insects and radon gas. Here, we’ll show you a simple, effective way to patch cracks in poured- concrete walls.

  • Repair damaged waterproofing

Getting water in your basement when it rains is inconvenient, but the damage water can do to your home’s foundation and structure can be catastrophic.

Water damage gets worse over time, and it never gets better by itself, so ACT NOW. It’s always easier to repair damage and waterproof a home when you first notice water than after more severe damage has developed.

Waterproofing the basement begins at the top, on the roof. The main purpose of a home’s gutter system is to redirect roof runoff so that the area around the foundation is not saturated by rainwater during a downpour. Homes with no rain gutters, or with inadequate or inoperable gutters, are at risk of being damaged by water.

Gutters must be sized large enough to handle the volume of water that will run down the roof during a rainstorm. Additionally, they should be installed on every roof-line that is parallel to the ground, not just over windows and doors. It is important to ensure that the gutters are properly sloped towards a downspout during installation.

  • Leakages repair using PU Injection

Crack injection is the process by which a resin or grout (epoxy or polyurethane) is injected into a crack or void under high or low pressure. Polyurethane is flexible and is used to stop water leaks, while epoxy is a glue used to bond sections of a wall back together as a structural repair.

In order to accomplish this operation, the area is first exposed and the crack site cleaned up so we can see the crack.

Many home owners use patching compounds such as hydraulic cement to stop leaks, with limited or temporary success. The moment the wall flexes, the rigid patch cracks and leaks again. Another poor repair method is injection using surface mount ports and a hand operated dispenser to “fill” the crack with epoxy or polyurethane. We fix many of these so called repaired cracks because there is no way to know if the crack has been filled. Tight cracks cannot be properly repaired with this method and we do not use it.
